Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C.’s Record-Breaking $148 Million Jury Verdict Among Top 15 Verdicts in U.S. of 2017

CHICAGO (May 2, 2018) – VerdictSearch has released their annual list of “Top 100 Verdicts.” Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., is pleased to announce the firm’s record-breaking $148 million jury verdict (Darden v. City of Chicago) ranked as #14 on this year’s list.

On August 23, 2017, a Cook County jury awarded a record $148 million verdict to Tierney Darden, a young woman who was paralyzed when the pedestrian shelter she was standing next to outside of O’Hare International Airport collapsed onto her in 2015. The $148 million verdict represents the highest personal injury compensatory verdict awarded to an individual in Illinois history and was obtained after a 10-day trial by attorneys Patrick A. Salvi, Tara R. Devine, Patrick A. Salvi II, and Eirene N. Salvi.

Every year, VerdictSearch and ALM scour the nation’s court records in search of the largest verdicts; it also consults with practitioners and with additional ALM Media publications. To view the full list of 2017’s Top 100 Verdicts, please click here.
