CHICAGO (August 30, 2021) – A $9 million jury verdict obtained by Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard has been ranked the 10th overall verdict in ALM’s Midwest Verdicts & Settlements of 2020.
Attorneys Patrick A. Salvi, Brian L. Salvi and Eirene N. Salvi obtained the $9 million jury verdict in November of 2020 on behalf of the family of a father and 22-year-old son who were killed in a 2018 collision. In addition, a $16 million personal injury settlement obtained by attorneys Patrick A. Salvi and Jennifer L. Ashley was ranked in ALM’s top 2 motor vehicle settlements in the Midwest.
Mr. Salvi and Ms. Ashley obtained the settlement on August 28, 2020 during a Zoom mediation with former Judge Bill Gomolinski. The case involved a motorcyclist who underwent a below-the-knee amputation after a collision involving a porter for a Lake County car dealership. The $16 million settlement represents the highest leg amputation settlement on record in Lake County. The prior Lake County leg amputation record-high was a $1,275,000 settlement reported in 1988, according to John Kirkton from the Cook County Jury Verdict Reporter.
