Patrick A. Salvi receives ITLA’s Leonard M. Ring Lifetime Achievement Award

CHICAGO (December 3, 2021) – Patrick A. Salvi, Founder and Managing Equity Partner of the Law Offices of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, P.C., was presented with the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA) Leonard M. Ring Lifetime Achievement Award on Thursday, December 2 at the ITLA midyear recognition dinner at the JW Marriott Chicago.

The Leonard M. Ring Lifetime Achievement Award has been given annually for 26 years to someone selected by a committee appointed by the ITLA president. “The recipient is someone who has devoted, as Leonard did, a substantial part of their life and their practice to ITLA, has done more than is called for, has the standards of Leonard, the work ethics of Leonard and the commitment to ITLA that Leonard Ring had,” according to ITLA’s website.

“I am honored and humbled to receive this award named after one of my heroes, Leonard Ring,” Mr. Salvi said.

As a nationally recognized attorney, Mr. Salvi concentrates his practice in cases concerning serious personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and mass torts. He is dedicated to helping his clients in providing the highest level of professional legal representation.

Mr. Salvi received his undergraduate degree at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in 1975. He continued his studies at the University of Notre Dame Law School where he earned his law degree in 1978. In 1978, Mr. Salvi was admitted to the State of Illinois Bar. He is also licensed to practice law in the states of Florida and Wisconsin.

For over 40 years, Mr. Salvi has been an active member of ITLA. He has served many roles within the organization and has held prominent positions in various ITLA committees, including ITLA’s Executive Committee. He served as president of ITLA in 1993-1994.

Mr. Salvi is very active in other professional organizations as well. He is involved with the American Association for Justice (AAJ), where he currently serves on the Leaders Forum. Mr. Salvi also serves as Chairman of the Notre Dame Law School Advisory Council.

Woodward/White, Inc. has named Mr. Salvi as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” since 2005. In 2021, he was one of only eleven attorneys throughout the country to be named to Law360’s “Titans of the Plaintiffs Bar” list. Mr. Salvi was named the 2017 “Plaintiff’s Personal Injury “Lawyer of the Year” in Chicago by Best Lawyers. He’s also received The Jury Verdict Reporter and Law Bulletin Publishing Company awards for Trial Lawyer Excellence in 2011, 2012 and 2018.

Mr. Salvi’s peers have selected him to the Illinois Super Lawyers Top 10 List every year since 2014. Leading Lawyers Magazine has named him to three Top Ten Lists every year since 2016: “Top 10 Leading Lawyers in Illinois in All Areas of Law”; “Top 10 Leading Consumer Lawyers in Illinois”; and Top 10 Personal Injury Plaintiff’s Lawyers in Illinois.”

Under Mr. Salvi’s leadership, the firm has obtained more than 300 multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements, totaling over $1.6 billion. Additionally, Mr. Salvi was lead counsel in obtaining an Illinois record-high $148 million personal injury jury verdict in 2017.

Outside the courtroom, Mr. Salvi is highly involved in the Chicago Catholic Charities Legal Assistance program, which provides assistance to people who find themselves confronted with legal issues yet cannot afford an attorney. He also works to raise funds for other organizations that provide vital legal assistance to our area’s low-income residents, such as the Chicago Legal Clinic and Prairie State Legal Services.

Mr. Salvi is the owner of two professional minor league baseball teams, the Gary SouthShore RailCats and the Schaumburg Boomers that play in Major League Baseball partner leagues.

Mr. Salvi and his wife, Lindy, have 5 sons and 7 grandchildren and live in Chicago.
