CHICAGO (October 1, 2024) – The New York Times published an article highlighting a testimony Patrick A. Salvi II gave before legislature to advocate for the passing of a bill permitting punitive damages in wrongful death suits in which a company is responsible for someone’s death. Within a week of Mr. Salvi’s testimony, both chambers approved the bill and it was signed into law shortly after.
The bill was brought about by a woman who lost her daughter in the 2019 Boeing 737 Max plane crash in Ethiopia. While Mr. Salvi served as President of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, he told the grieving mother that supporting her efforts would be among his top goals.
Patrick A. Salvi II is the Chicago Managing Partner of Illinois Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury Law Firm, Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C.
