Chicago media outlets report on $20 million settlement for woman hit, dragged by CTA bus in 2019

CHICAGO – The Chicago Transit Authority has agreed to pay a $20 million settlement to a 59-year-old woman who was hit and dragged by a bus in Streeterville more than three years ago. Plaintiff Diane Schachner’s lawsuit against the agency had been scheduled for trial in March until a settlement deal was reached in December. On Friday, January 13, CTA board members voted to approve the payout.
