CHICAGO (May 4, 2022) – The families of two victims of a car crash in Wheeling, who were killed by a man transporting a Jaguar and driving more than 150 miles an hour, were granted two separate settlement awards totaling $20 million.
The family of a 62-year-old mail carrier who was killed in the crash was represented by Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard attorneys Patrick A. Salvi, Brian L. Salvi, Lance D. Northcutt and Eirene N. Salvi. On March 29, 2022, the family was awarded a $12 million settlement for their loss.
“Arthur Matillano was adored by his family and the community he served,” Patrick Salvi said. “This senseless crash changed the Matillanos’ lives forever. They feel the emptiness of the space Art once occupied every single day, and the intense emotional pain of losing their cornerstone has not lessened with time.”
