Patrick A. Salvi II named Person of the Year by Chicago Lawyer Magazine

CHICAGO (December 7, 2023) – Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, P.C. is pleased to announce Chicago Managing Partner Patrick A. Salvi II was honored by Chicago Lawyer Magazine as the 2023 Person of the Year. The award was announced Thursday by Law Bulletin Media as they released their December 2023/January 2024 issue. The award is featured prominently on the cover of the issue and can be read on the publication’s website.

The Chicago Lawyer Person of the Year is an honor given to the newsmaker, trendsetter or legal leader of the year. Chicago Lawyer Managing Editor John McNally cites Mr. Salvi being retained by a former Northwestern University football player to file the first lawsuit against the school over claims of hazing and sexual abuse, finalizing an overall settlement for the remaining Sterigenics cases, and passing meaningful legislation for the plaintiff’s bar through the General Assembly as just a few reasons why Mr. Salvi was chosen as the 2023 Person of the Year.

“Salvi has touched the lives of individuals he’s encountered since entering the industry nearly two decades ago — whether it be his clients, colleagues, legislators, or opponents. After securing the October 2022 record-breaking $363 million jury verdict award for Sue Kamuda against Sterigenics, followed by an overall $408 million settlement in January as lead counsel for the hundreds of remaining lawsuits against Sterigenics and helping deliver significant legislative changes as ITLA president that allow punitive damages in wrongful death lawsuits, Salvi shows no signs of slowing down,” said Cailey Gleeson of Chicago Lawyer Magazine.

“This is an incredible honor. I am so very thankful to Chicago Lawyer. I am also thankful to the team at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, and the clients that we have been honored to represent. From the mentorship I have received from my dad and others to the incredible support of our firm and my family, I have been blessed to have the opportunity to help injured victims and to have a positive impact in the State of Illinois. Perhaps no one deserves more thanks than my wife, Julianna Salvi, the most wonderful life partner I could ever ask for and amazing mother to our three kids, Patrick, Victoria, and Jack,” said Patrick A. Salvi II, Managing Partner of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard’s Chicago office.
