GLENVIEW, Ill. (March 5, 2025) – Early Tuesday morning, a Cook County Sheriff’s squad car hit and killed a pedestrian in Glenview, according to ABC 7.
Just after 5 a.m. Glenview police were called for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 9800-block of Milwaukee Avenue. The squad car involved in the accident was left with visible front-end damage and a boot from the victim was left in the roadway, WGN reports.
The struck 28-year-old Chicago resident was transported to Lutheran General Hospital in critical condition. She died from her injuries the following day, reported CBS Chicago.
Glenview police and the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force Major Crash Assistance Team are investigating the incident. It is not yet clear what led to the crash.
