CHICAGO (February 20, 2025) – In December of 2024, a Cook County jury awarded a $79.85 million verdict to the family of 10-year-old Da’Karia Spicer, who died from injuries in a crash caused by another motorist in pursuit with Chicago police. Chicago police officers initiated the pursuit for a purported traffic violation in Chicago’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood.
The family’s attorneys, Patrick A. Salvi II and Lance D. Northcutt, spoke with Law.com’s Marriana Wharry about their strategy for obtaining the landmark verdict and how the entire legal team worked together to help the family begin to move forward after the loss of the young girl.
