Man Killed in Chicago Dog Attack

CHICAGO (August 26, 2024) – A 33-year-old man was mauled to death in the vestibule of a two-flat West Side apartment building in Chicago, officials reported.

Police were called to the apartment building, located in the South Austin neighborhood’s 5500-block of West Quincy Street, at about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night.

The man had multiple dog bites on his body, and several dogs were found inside the apartment, police said. The victim was pronounced dead on scene, reported ABC 7.

The man’s death was ruled as an accident and the medical examiner’s office said he died from his injuries during a dog mauling.

Officials have not provided further information.
