LANSING, Ill. (May 28, 2019) – Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a Lansing, Ill. daycare where a 10-month-old boy was found unresponsive in the basement and later died.

Vincent “Tre” Edward Clark III was a 10-month-old boy who attended the Learn-N-Play All Day Home Childcare facility at 2824 186th Street in Lansing, Illinois. On April 9, 2019, a daycare employee put Tre down for a nap in the basement of the facility. After putting him down, the employee left Tre alone in the basement. It is believed he was left without a visual or audio monitoring system.

A little over two hours later, a daycare employee went down to the basement and found Tre unresponsive and not breathing. The employee called 911 and Tre was rushed to the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead in the early morning hours of April 10, 2019.

On May 28, 2019, Patrick A. Salvi II and Heidi L. Wickstrom of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Learn-N-Play All Day Home Childcare and its owner, Kimberly White, on behalf of Tre’s parents, Vincent Clark II and Ebony Clark of Calumet City, Ill.

“This is every parent’s worst nightmare. When you leave your child at a daycare, you trust that they will be kept safe and free from harm. This horrific tragedy was completely avoidable. Had the daycare’s employees properly watched Tre, the Clarks would not be here today mourning the loss of their first and only child,” the family’s attorney Patrick A. Salvi II said.
