Law360, New York (January 9, 2017) — The U.S. has agreed to pay $18.5 million to settle a medical malpractice case in which a federally funded doctor failed to diagnose a meningitis infection in a child who subsequently suffered devastating brain damage, the family’s lawyers said Monday.
