Tara R. Devine joined Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in 2004 and became the firm’s first female partner in 2011. In 2018, Ms. Devine was promoted to Managing Partner of the firm’s Lake County office. She concentrates her practice in the areas of personal injury, nursing home negligence, wrongful death, medical malpractice and product liability cases.
Ms. Devine has recovered over $240 million on behalf of her clients since starting at the firm and is licensed and practices in Illinois and Wisconsin.
The success record that Ms. Devine has achieved on behalf of her clients is remarkable. She has helped obtain numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements in personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death suits.
In 2017, she was part of the trial team that obtained a record-setting $148 million jury verdict on behalf of a dancer paralyzed by a collapsed pedestrian shelter at O’Hare International Airport. The verdict is the highest compensatory verdict awarded to an individual plaintiff in Illinois history.
Community engagement is extremely important to Ms. Devine. She is a Board Member of the Lake County Bar Association and served as President of the organization from 2022 – 2023. In 2023, she was appointed to the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Jury Instructions in Civil Cases. Additional credentials and distinctions include: serving as a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and the Wisconsin State Bar Association. Ms. Devine is also involved with the American Association for Justice and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, where she serves on the Board of Managers and has been a guest speaker at the association’s legal seminars.
Ms. Devine received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois and her law degree from Marquette University. Currently, Ms. Devine is an active Marquette alumni member and has previously served as a Committee member for the Annual Chicago Marquette Lawyer Reception.
In her spare time, Ms. Devine enjoys hot yoga classes, going on family vacations, and taking her dog to different dog parks and forest preserves.
